Our innovative approach that inspires action:
1. Experiential
Utilising simulation role-play and gamification, participants learn by doing, feel real emotions and build empathy to go beyond intellectualisation.
2. Reality
Nothing hypothetical. They are rooted in real world challenges and/or the work of social impact organisations.
3. Opening pathways
We leverage our network to open pathways for young talent to work with social impact organisations beyond the classroom and facilitate the process.
4. Mentorship
We support the young person's journey by providing mentorship, for lasting impact and systems change.
UN SDG Social Entrepreneurship Experience
An immersive experience that uses simulation role-play and gamification to enhance participants' entrepreneurial skills, build empathy, solve real world problems and meet the UN SDGs.
It is based on a real social enterprise in India that has been supported by the United Nations Development Programme and is addressing 14/17 UN SDGs.
Impact beyond the classroom
1. Participation:
Three students from the University of Bristol, applied the problem statements they ideated for in our Social Entrepreneurship Experience workshop to their Innovation Masters project.
2. On-ground action:
Within two months they flew to India to serve on the ground and conduct field research alongside Paryavaran Mitra, which we supported and facilitated.
3. Applying their skills:
They innovated for an upcycling plastic waste solution, which improves women’s skills and income.
4. Lasting impact:
Post graduation, inspired by the journey, two of the three students secured working roles with social impact organisations in India as a start to their professional careers.
The Perspectivity Game
An interactive way to present the political, social and economic behavioural challenges around sustainability by simulating the politics of climate change, thereby exploring the complexity in organisational decision making in multi-stakeholder environments.
How does it work?
Participants are tasked to ‘play the role of a leader of a nation’, compete against 5 other ‘countries’ and grow through industrial development.
Participants learn by feeling the learning outcomes in real time as they are faced with tackling conflict, developing and actioning strategy, communicating during negotiations, working in teams, taking leadership and moving through ambiguity.
We personalise the debrief to match the learning outcomes that are relevant to your course.
The game ‘play’ is followed by a facilitated debrief, where we unpack all the dynamics of what participants experienced for themselves and apply it to their real life professional and personal scenarios. Potential contexts include:
Personal leadership development
Entrepreneurship
International development
Multi-stakeholder management
Sustainability and climate change
